The Crossing
The crossing . ------------------- Along the shore of tomorrow and close to the inland sea By the mountains of forgiveness and the lake of eternity. With a river for the lost souls that travels through out the land Over seeing all those passed is the leader of the dammed . What tithe or cost this crossing Which direction must I go, Along the shining path and toward that earthly glow?. As The crimson clouds of woefulness Cross the weary sky Feelings of this once living slowly pass me by. The Ferry now approaches and upon this sombre tide, Forgotten memories haunt me now from the death I died. The Ancient trees of this underworld clutch and seem to grasp, Their darkest heights swaying as whispered questions are asked. Ripples approach the sacred shore and as death steps out to greet, Her hand out stretched With the blackest cloak , Come with me ‘is all she’ll speak. Now upon the barge all over takes my breath I lay me down upon this day , and am newly born in death.
