Summer Days
I loved the days when I was young and free eating sand in my food as I sat by the sea the sounds of the ocean waves exploring in those cliff face caves the days were long and hot and sticky happy times shared with my friend Micky ice-creams melting dripping down our arms seaside shops selling rocks shells and charms buckets and spades and a packed picnic hamper for fear of rain we'd take us a jumper paddling close to shore-afraid to swim sometimes my dad would throw us both in the long journey home endured in dad's car good old dad- the man was a star coastal days in my memory cling how we would laugh, dance and sing now sitting in my office all hot and sticky thoughts of my youth and old mate Micky the weekend is coming-it's just round the corner I'll meet up with Micky if the weather stays warmer
