The Dimension of Love
On a balmy evening, I was out enjoying a walk, Admiring the flowers and scenery on my block; Moonlight poured, and nobody else was about, Because I had become restless, I had gone out. Fireflies were dancing, reminiscently green, As roses recall to mind the past beauties seen! I inhaled a deep breath of the fragrance air, And then I noticed something lingering there! A bright red, glowing orb, above the treetops, Shooting colored lights, like so many gumdrops! Before I could think, those beams shot my way, And I lit up, like the most glorious new day! There was no pain, but I did feel very strange, As if I had gone through a very radical change. That's why I decided to return home and sleep, For that is quite essential when the shadows peep! Upon waking the next day, I was rested and calm, And very changed in perspective-nature's balm! But when I went to the mirror to put on my face, In lieu of my own image, was a big smiley face! Then, in total shock, I looked out of the window, And saw strawberry trees in the sunshine's glow. I saw purple clouds and polka dot striped flowers, The myriad color blends could captivate for hours! Familiar houses were brightened with all gay hues, As the people interacted with a kindness very new; Curious, I explored this extradimensional earth, So much like my own, but not the world of my birth! While in my garden, I saw my neighbor next door, "Hi, neighbor!" she said. Then I wasn't a visitor! I knew at once that we would again be good friends, Where there's loving good will, the joy never ends! Since then, I've traveled this beauty world over, And all over such harmony, as if love is composer! Like the midnight serenade of a moonstruck bluebird, A song not so beautiful until once it's truly heard!
