Wandering on the city streets – calling sidewalks your home; A heavy pack upon your back – everything you owned; But at the end of a ragged rope lease, a puppy that you found - Two abandoned wanderers resting on the ground. Begging on the city streets – hunger in your hands; The doorways, your cradle – you could hardly stand; Finding you a shelter – maybe money for a meal – A smile, a word, reaching out - shattering this daily ordeal.
