April 27, 2011 Tornado
Alabama in April, the day is the 27th, It all happened in the year, 2011 "What happened on that fateful day?" That was your question "Tornado's came through With a lot of aggression" Early morning had strong winds That took the power out, It did a lot of damage, and Shook the trees about. That storm was a real bad one, But there was more to be seen. an E-4's coming our way, I was scared to the core of my being. The Tornado touched down In a city that's two hours away "A Tornado's imminent" Mike's fire radio did say. To the Fire Department My husband did go For search and rescue, Falling debris made going slow. The sky became dark, Sirens blared, thunder boomed We all headed to our safe place That being the innermost room. It flattened many houses And took many lives That was a day I wasn't sure we'd survive. The storm it raged on, Doing damage on the way We won't forget what All happened that day. A weeks worth of hours They ran calls day and night More than 20 families, They made sure were alright. A war zone is what It left in its wake Homes, pets and loved ones Is what it did take Things are getting back to normal But it took a long while, The track of the storm Was more than 73 miles. That's the answer I'd give you The answer to your question About what happened in April Of 2011. Mary Taylor 1/6/2020
