Good and Evil Can Never Co-Exist
I was tending to the needs of the flowers in my garden, When it hit me, Good and evil can never co-exist, Judging by the struggle that is taking place in my garden., The good represented by my innocent roses, That open up their soul to the world, Revealing all that is pure and good, For us to emulate, Purifying the air with their uncontaminated scent. The bad represented by the creepers, Whose sole purpose is to envelop these gifts from God, And choke the life out of them prematurely, Leaving nothing but a dead landscape for us to enjoy, One that is devoid of all hope, Of any offerings that are good for us, And pleasing in the sight of God. So, I spend part of most days, rooting out this evil, And praying that I am able to keep its power in check, And my life-giving trees, That shade me from the Sun's harmful rays, That provide a place for the birds to rest their heads And raise their young, That provide leaves for me to turn into compost, That let children hang upside down from their branches, That allow temporary buildings to sit between their bough's, Free from the hug of death before their time.
