Rainy Day
I woke up this morning To a very dark, gray day And the aches and pains That I wished would go away It's dark and it's cold And everything is wet All day I've been wondering "Is it bedtime yet?" I know the rain Helps the flowers grow, The earth needs the rain to live This I know But when I sit up in bed When I wake A creak and a moan Are the noises I make. Sometimes I cry When the pain gets real bad Sometimes I cry "why me?" Sometimes it makes me mad I know this is all part Of God's plan Who am I to question The motives of this Man? I may shed a few tears As I get through this day With God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit With me, I pray The earths pressure changes With each passing storm Some, like me, can feel it Sometimes it makes me squirm. Sometimes I swell And my bones'll break Sometimes I wonder "How much more can I take?" Then the clouds'll open Before too long The sun will shine The birds will sing their song Time goes on And back comes the rain And coming with it Will be the pain And I will do What I usually do And that is pray for God To help me through. -11/13/2018
