Many a Mile
Many A Mile What it means to be loved by the river Overflowing with joy , warmth, laughter The rain has come The sun has gone The rays have been delayed The only thing that remains is The eye of day The shoe has walked many a mile Has torn and gone rough With plenty a foul The mountains have risen above the clouds Reaching peaks that circle the clouds The forest has breathed deep into the atmosphere The leaves have swayed to the wind in the air The berries ripened with red The roses fall to its breath Yellow meadows loom with light The night sky calm with waves Soothing its fade Crystal waters glaze with rain Droplets bounce with flare The sun dances in the sea It’s waves stir the breeze She’s given call that she could have given Any more or any less would be forsaken Her heart at the forefront of her day Her breath carries all that may live Her touch is the pinnacle of the wave How does it feel to not see you next to me To not feel the wind in the breeze If tomorrow never comes I hope the sun dances the upon your way Black lace veil draped over the face Net yarn trail down the chin Providing shade Fallen roses Sunken in the vase Dried , crinkled and aged Darker, intense, estranged What it is to be no more What it is to be subtle and phased Caged in but never replaced What it is to be taught And extend from the ways Expectancies and common caves Marckincia Jean Free verse 12/31/19
