Holly Melancholy
Winter is a season that for some is less than jolly- despite bright sparkling Christmas lights and halls bedecked with holly. For some, it represents a void that's dark, dreary and cold an aching-empty, lonely space of horrors quite untold. Reminders of the merry times before we were bereaved in broken hearts cause questions of the creeds we once believed. While sitting lone, or lying prone we stare at walls and ceilings and try to stop disturbing thoughts and overwhelming feelings. The emptiness surrounding us at Christmas closes in and suffocates in silence amid the season's din. And so we die a silent death around this time each year while wishing all the others tidings glad and full of cheer! But 'though we're low through winter's chill and things seem very dire- when weather warms, we'll be transformed our spirits lifting higher... Until, at last, the summer sun will break through this malaise and we will be ourselves again enjoying better days.
