One Candle More
His mind asked his heart a question, "How long do you think we'll love her?" Without hesitation or needing immunity it pounded a reply, "After the stars cease to shine, we'll light a candle and love a little more." The mind messed around and spoke heart's truth. That scared her to the point of consecration as she endeavored to love all of him. But in her head, she declared love of self was inhuman. She listened to the many when only one was needed. Observing her savior because it was He who tapped her shoulder after every bliss filled moments. He said, "It's sin. Please let me in." He said He'd make her mind whole but didn't tell her about the tearing of the heart. She couldn't a piece to one and the rest to another. Couldn't love right with a feeling of guilt. No poem or letter or feelings filtered from the heart could make her see the purity of intention. Only if she observed biology as well as her own spirituality she might have made a choice even the preacher she followed made. Stuck in the pastimes of past lies, truth was nothing more than mistaken soul mate identity. Merrily a man, there was nothing he could do, but wait till all the last star fell, light a candle, and think without ever speaking it into existence, "Maybe in this eternity."
