The Last Leaf
THE LAST LEAF! I'm the last leaf I've held on so long The wind whispers out The death song, Taps I've watched my fellow leaves burst forth with awesome colors showing their moods they wave and swing as they cling as long as they dare! My tree's done well this year making oxygen, giving shade, giving berth in it's branches, flowers for bees, food for birds, insects and humans! All the while, standing fast, they tie the earth and sky. When you lay down beneath, Giving a special treat for the eye! I am the Last Leaf on this tree I've hung on till the job was done! The Song is Sung and now at last I am free! I just let go, I've made friends with the wind and trusting the ride I'll be back in the Spring! Meanwhile I've new perspectives from different spaces as I flow to be part of Mother earth. Soon I'll be feeding the Tree I am part of. I'll reach out and clasp the roots and let her feed. Full circle for me as I rest in winter only to Pop up next Spring! <3
