Mirror Mirror
Mirror Mirror Do not lie. I know that you want to. I know that you may need to. I am broken, and soon… You will be too. Fairy tales they fill us up as kids. Happy endings and forever’s, that have no end. Beauty did not tame the beast, Cinderella never wore shoes of glass, she walked across it instead, to make life better for her kids. Real moms don’t give up. We are not allowed. We are cut from the cloth that has no seam allowance. From the time our child is born until we close our eyes, We will remember, they were ours, a gift for only a time. Families ripped apart, regardless of the reason, It is only for a season. Space and time, they are the same. A heart can contain much, in such a small room. Stand in the food line, work two jobs. Friends tell you, “go back to school”. (when? between work, life, and sleeplessness) They have the best ideas, perfect lives and the kindest wishes. Yet prayers, powerful, consistent and complete. Ever He listens specifically. Closely, He gathers what is needed, whom to send. Then the morning sun rises, the ugliness of shadow, dispersed… the gloom of certain failure…diminished… into dust. On the wall? Who is the fairest… Any (all) daughter(s) of the king.
