Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required Dear dragon you must understand, you are alone in human lands. These beings, they are not like we; mortal beasts, they truly be. Controlled strictly by their fear, mortal creatures, will bring tears; Their finite minds, don’t comprehend, the wondrous realm, where we began. We are creatures of the light, for mortal souls, we must fight. These mortals live in a realm so dark; imbalance lives within their hearts. We dragons are of courage, bold and tales of our exploits have been told but, they are never kind, it seems; our reputation’s no longer pristine A dragon’s heart’s of purest gold, never by humans, will that be told. We are a gentle, loving lot while, Wyverns, hearts have love not! We will join our phoenix friends, the truth and light, we’ll usher in. the balance we create tonight; can bring these mortals back to the light. Note: In fantasy, the dragon is often portrayed as the figure of evil while it's cousin, the Wyvern is in truth, the evil entity. In some cultures, the dragon symbolizes fortitude and courage; the male aspect of the human being. In a few introspective moments, I considered the abilities of the human soul and the dragon within all of us and the change we could bring about in our world, if we all worked together, rather than waste time with hate and war. As souls, we have immense power to do good or evil; it's a god-given choice. Too often we humans choose to take away the choices that our creator has given us, willingly, e.g., trying to force one religion or another on one another. From birth, we are bless with the freedom of choice, especially in how we "Captain" our own souls. That is something we have no right to take away from one another or censor. What was intended as a mythological poem, turned out to be way more. This is written as a dialogue between the human soul and those aspects that we too often use for war, which would be even stronger, if we used them to prevent it. I hope you read it with an open mind.
