In the Middle of Frozen Nowhere
My dreams had magnified so manifold the miniature mind could no longer hold, but they grew the wings of soaring desire, turning into birds fluttering in the ardent air. Through the ribboned arc of the rinsed rainbow they sailed to the slant horizon dipping down low where the twilight hues of silence drizzled to lie on the carved canvas of the color-soaked sky. They flew en echelon on the canopy of cloud, their drifting designs on blue made them proud. I tried to decipher the meaning of plethora of pattern, some I could, but many I failed to discern. The birds making all the time new templates of flight allured me to catch the kaleidoscopic view of delight. I couldn’t, in the end gave up, toiled the tedious try, for they ascended high in my frosted remote sky. My dreams drifted on the wings of summer birds, disappeared beyond the misty edge of winter blurred. So, I was forlorn in the middle of frozen nowhere, trudging the time with the mind empty as ever. I’d build the nest for the birds that had flown away, and wait, after the winter they would return someday.
