Journey Through Time's Long Blackened Maze
Journey Through Time's Long Blackened Maze Avoiding many pitfalls, I walked a narrow ledge a tramp searching for treasures that would heal empty soul since death had stolen so much had cast sorrows as ocean waves of grief as solemn shores of jagged glass bare feet commanded to walk in midnight pains Avoiding love as its costs were too, too high coward, wading desolation through canyons of despair where black-singing nights, ooze more cuts as ill-winds surround miseries and dreams of yesterdays before death's hand gripped the life of a beloved brother and friend Avoiding that crossroad, one that can save this soul renew joys of life, restoring Love, Truth and Heart forgiving myself, for my yet being alive forgiving myself, for life and going on forgiving myself, for not seeking death forgiving myself, for each sweet breath Avoiding many pitfalls, I walked a narrow ledge a tramp searching for treasures that would heal empty soul since death had stolen so much had cast sorrows as ocean waves of grief as solemn shores of jagged glass bare feet commanded to walk in midnight pains Free verse, 9-21-2019 written for SilentOne , Crossroads Contest
