Farewell To Selfish Venture
Bidding farewell to worldliness' festival I turn to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God*, Source of spiritual revival... He graciously wrought great changes in my life by His grand arrival Assuring me salvation from hell’s condemnation and sinful survival Giving me glorious life eternal, enabling my divine blessed upheaval. Saying goodbye to pride-caused blindness I move on, thanking the Almighty for illumining by His loving kindness… Healing my soul’s iniquity-afflictions with His wondrous forgiveness Clearing my blurred vision through His wisdom’s counseling brightness Upholding my biblical faith, subduing my skepticism and doubtfulness. Lingering midst serene adieu-flight after parting from selfishness-blight I praise the omnipotent Creator-Lord midst His holiness-might… Smiting my vain arrogance to yield humbly to His supreme sovereign height Reproving my grievous disobedience, leading me to His will, perfectly right Bracing me upon His strength so I can serve Him with joyous delight. *John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
