Burning Trees
The suns eye is falling, ash from the ground drowns the trees In a sea of dark grey and exfoliated black leaves Falling… singing a song that echoes through the woods of this cradle of life only a few rays can pierce through the thick smoke that has engulfed the skies as if the heaven had decided it was time to relocate the last ray of sunlight finds its mark on a plummeting leaf as it hits the ground a puff of dust rises and kisses its blades… thus clarifying the saying of “whatever goes up must come down” the smell of burning wood evades my nostrils, the crackling sounds of wood burning mirrors the screams of helplessness and pain these trees have endured. When the night awakens the fowls fly over the place they once called home… a red glow illuminating the tree like a giant neuron.
