Way Back When
I stumble over my thoughts, the way someone stumbles when drunk, my memories are the drink that calls to me, a much happier time, when I was young and you were too. I smile to myself remembering the young girl that I was then, my long dark hair and big brown eyes, brand new glasses that I wore, with rose colored lenses, all the world was blooming right in front of me. I sang to every word, when the radio played songs about us, I couldn't wait to be kissed, by the only one, my heart was promised to. That young girl, quickly matured, now a woman who knew better, than to wear rose colored glasses, I put them into a box for safe keeping. Recently I looked through that box , all the photographs were faded, but the memories had stayed, just as If it were yesterday, when I was young and you were to. My glasses were still there, now tarnished and cracked, but when I put them on, I was amazed at what I could see, you still look so beautiful to me.
