The freezing rain turns into black ice If you're driving make sure you think twice You may have a glitch End up in a ditch Take heed of the weatherman’s advice ~ cold winds start to blow bringing first flakes of winter ~ bird’s migration starts ~ Flakes Falling Weaving a Soft blanket of Snow ~ old people indoors but enjoy seeing others ~ from their comfort zone ~ Kids Are out Snowballing Having great fun The lake now frozen Attracts some ice-skaters' Who show off their skills to all Many stay inside in the warm Sat by a roaring log fire that crackles' And thinking back to when they were a child ~ The children have fun in the cold By the fireside huddle the old ~ Come Nightfall The sky clears Stars visible Temperatures drop and the virgin snow glistens ~ When as a child snow made me smile And still does now for a short while Artists paint the snow-covered land While Poets create verse so grand Spring time does seem so far away Gets close with every passing day The snow will go lands will turn green But a wonderland you'll have seen. written 9th august 2019 FORMS USED limerick haiku lanterne senyru etheree couplet tertractys rhyme.
