paint above the dirt in the street walls bear witness to the crime streets can breathe as the victims lay motionless a place to hold the strong the dead and the homeless outline my resting place until the rain takes my memories away crime scene selfies for a file for the forgotten a chamber of screams for us to ignore a place to take refuge for some leave your mark with your art in a can tag it and hope it lasts I stand in the shadow that once was me stepping back lying in a puddle a baptism to the next step for the painter left the work remains undone forever I live in the maze of shadows I create my legacy my tag is my brand see it you will know it no gallery ever travels to the exhibits my legacy on the wall until their paint takes away my voice I am like the can my soul is the art held in my hand I place it there so my followers can find me this is my social media I am hereby choice I resent no one I am happy I guess I chose this I didn’t fit in outside the back alleys I understand the ways of the walls my canvas chased from my home and school from echo fatigue I found a culture that asks no questions I stand above the body in the alley the can still in my hand I am not surprised that it's me
