Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required Every day I fought to overcome the pain Reminding myself it couldn't be in vain Even as it cut me all the way to the vein I would not leave this world as a stain Mirror mirror upon the wall How I thought I had so far to fall Where once I stood so very tall Considering Death's lonely call Whispered words so soft and barely heard I felt confined like a caged bird And I drank until my words were slurred And tears made my vision blurred I almost took my own life in those days When I couldn't see past the gray daze I went through each and every day in a haze Locked in a lost and loony craze To this day I walk around with a noose But day by day that noose is more loose No longer a victim of self-abuse With life I could finally make a truce Though my heart and body are scarred And this life has truly been rather hard My future shall no longer be marred And I've slowly collected every heart shard My biggest hater hid in my soul Truth be told I paid a major toll But for once I'm finally feeling whole And maybe after all I'll reach my goal Every day I fought to overcome the pain Reminding myself it couldn't be in vain And as I stand here in the gentle rain I found the strength to overcome again
