Cora's Poem
Though the winds took her away on that morning of June and the rope held her frame by the witness of the moon the angels did not leave her Alice, of this I'M sure; All her life she wanted to go back to Newfoundland to an ocean of peace and seashell whispers Toronto was a place of pure insanity Alice, a place where doctors were seen as racketeers: Grieve not my friend for in channeled thoughts of mind she did not omit the possibility, of blowing in the wind Caught by her courage she went to the gates of death clean faced, and honest as a dove to a heaven of reprieve where truth be told she will never be sick again, nor ever grow old... Before her soul was released she visited Newfoundland with salt on her lips and sand between her toes she took to the afterlife like a battered soldier of old Your girl was much too beautiful for this stoic world, and in fact so brave that even onto death her spirit shone, as her memory lived on. Love ? Always. 6/26/2019 Ps. dedicated to my dear friend Alice who lost her daughter two weeks ago.
