Mason jars were nearby and I Tried to fill one with those sparkly things, Feeling sorrow for their confinement, Curiosity won over it seems. With a knife I punched air holes in the top Of one of those old used jars, And nature got back at me for I sliced My hand with two long bloody bars. Stitches were required and to this day I’ll remember the captured flies, And let them be free and wander Like stars in the grand Texas skies.
