Broken Hearts
***Where do all the broken hearts go..... Wouldn't it be wise to know?*** On the ground do they fall_ at our feet in front of all? Or washed away with each tear drop_ at the very place, we've stopped. Do they melt into the air_ do we breathe them unaware? Are they returned to us again_ down inside the lungs therein? So with every breath, we give__ is a chance for them to live. A chance for them to grow_ so that all the hearts can show_ that love's light shines a brightly glow. If hearts vanish amongst the flow of tears_ are they gone forever when the rain clears? Have they withered away akin the waters of a stream?_ Are they dried away ere heat of day via sunbeam? Are they returned to Heaven as hot misty steam? Are they the reason the sun dazzle and gleam? Woe! If they fall to earth's hollow ground_ Their travels take the long way round! They're crushed beneath our soles and feet_ And sadly crumbled in defeat. We stomp on them, we jump and pound_ Oh how their weeps make terrible sounds. As I walk, I hear one or two cry_ moans, and groans as they slowly die. Was it's death a natural demise_ an accident, murder, or suicide? A heart can be broken we can surmise_ so the death of it comes to no surprise. So take a handful of soil to mix and blend_ to help the hearts begin to mend. Give it food, and daily water_ every chance to restore its order. Shall it live on and shall it grow_ only the breaths of love are to know_ When hearts die... where do they go.
