I am Darkness Shadow Canyon
They referred to me as Darkness Shadow Canyon I smile as I hear their terrified whispers in the dark Float across my exotic fields, in the dead of night I gnash my teeth, readying myself for Whatever comes my way It is where we find bodies, on a regular basis Some lie. I do not care. They are humans, knowing nothing Understanding less than that. The stars are my go-to source I look up and convene with them in a telepathic way We believe in your goodness, they tell me Wolf pack is howling at the moon over the hill They will soon be here, leaping across my grasses, Smelling the fresh kill the hunter left a few minutes ago It appears to be something young. Something dead. They always leave them here, in my fescue grasses Giving me a reputation for being an evil place. Darkness Shadow Woman, the only one who did not Have anything to do with the killing of this innocent. I shudder as the wolves descend on the package. It is trembling, possibly not dead yet. But soon. Dew comes to my grasses, soothing me not a whit The stars assure me. It is never my fault – the evil of bad men.
