Shutters
Shutters I found myself holding a pen and a page full of blanks like these shuttered life of mine My state of mind was somewhat angry figuring that I was lost in my own anger to the man I thought as a protector “The one I loved” Where are you? I started looking again for the one I loved in suspense to find something or someone better this time How are you? I finally got to meet a different vision of him in someone with all these chains obligating my life without any shame of judgement How have you been? I stripped naked my truth being unafraid of his perception of me He looked deep and hard and started picking up the pieces of my life that was shuttered The first one was patience Damn! How did he know I am in fiascos? The second was compassion How did he know that such with love is the greatest combination? Breaking all these walls I built to protect this delicate heart he had at shutters The third was patience He knew for sure I would never be able to break free, even by myself I would never be able to have such crafts He was a king, a Mister He was love in shutters and he knew how to patch my pieces along with his and he did that like a lecture on a board finding an “X” to balance an equation with so many solutions leading to one answer I couldn’t even do fairness when I called him by his last name while having him ingesting all the butterflies by the sweet nothings I uttered He knew how to mend my shutters Poet Masego Nkuna
