Making Memories
We traveled far up the river on rafts made of paper and crayons. Strange colors we favored for flights far off in distant lands. Afternoons of cookie crumbs spread across the living room floor. We sped in cars of wax and putty and knocked down green men of war. In rockets made of wooden sticks We were the first to land on mars. We fought off monsters that transformed And shot down all the stars. We fought both the stars and wars right alongside the dark night. We dressed up Joe in army clothes so he could stand up and fight. We played with wheels that were hot and matched up boxes on plastic tracks so we could be the fastest driver To ever run the track and back. We spent our days together spending time making memories. They were the best I can remember and now I’m 63.
