Dedication To Meals On Wheels People
Dedication to Meals on Wheels People As my Mother's health diminished, I came to be exceedingly grateful for 'The Meals on Wheels People'~ An endearing name, she chose to call them. I couldn't be there for her as I was as work, don't you see? And Mother did her best walking In her new red rollator, buzzing about like a busy bee. I worried she would fall and break her other hip, But she even tried to dance with her rollator. For one up in years, Mother was quite the trip. She so desired to be in her beloved home till the end! So human angels, in the form of 'Meals on Wheels People' came each day! Oh, I think they will never understand How very much love they brought her way. At noon, she waited by the side door, Not so much for the food, but for their chat and smiles. They will never know how their smiles truly made her day. Being home bound, Mother, so happy, Bowed her head and for each did daily pray. These are people who should be covered on the news. They do good daily, I am hear to tell you. In my poem, I can sing their song. Yes, much goodness does still exist in this world. This is my song for my Mother's, ' Meals on Wheels People.' Panagiota Romios 4/19/2019
