Passages
Often in life we have to let everything go. All attachments will dissipate one day, only the heart and soul survive the blow of other fingers, other eyes making judgments that are hard to realise as they toss away tid bits we held dear sentimentality... tokens of emotions we carried safely inside through the years. The token is just the physical reminder of an emotion alive and well, But it's not the token we carry inside, which is good - one day the outside will be gone. Sometimes I wonder about other old women's lives, the ones with the security of a warm home, strong and loving family ties, joy and laughter sparkling in their eyes. But come on - that was twenty years younger than I am and I can't build a past from where I stand at this moment, in my present state of mind. Tomorrow's always come but today finds me paring away at levels of choices, large and small. I used to envy their security, but not their blindness not their closed mindedness not their falseness nor their skills in the labors of lying, stealing and blaming... they are pro's. But such is the path they chose. I chose to spiritually grow. Perhaps security was the price.
