I Sat There
I sat there for hours, Watching the traffic go by. I sat there for what seemed like days. Thoughts racing about a goodbye. A mental illness causing sorrow, A mentality causing nothing but pain. I was ready to forgo tomorrow, As the dark clouds brought upon rain. Pictures flooded my considerations, Of smiling faces turned to anguish. Sadness increasing in moderations, Changing hope into a deaths wish. I sat there for hours, Watching the traffic go by. Dealing with my tampered mind. I know I promised not to say goodbye. I didn’t mean to make you cry. After the hours had gone and went, I resigned to my room, my emotions spent. The phone was off and left alone. I couldn’t leave and travel the unknown. I sat there for hours, And could only think of you. I could only pray for the future. I couldn’t reverse time, I couldn’t succeed in prayer. I couldn’t remind myself of a reason. But I couldn’t leave them. I couldn’t leave you. I sat there for hours, not able to move. I just....sat there.
