It Is Six Ten Am It Is Six Ten Am
I toss Alexa across the room, furious she has started chanting "It's 6 a.m. It's 6 a.m. It's 6 a.m." The time I told her to chant. I have had three hours of sleep, stayed up way too late playing. Words with Friends, Scrabble, Dabble, and Max the Axe. Max the Axe makes my heartbeat so fast, at the end, I almost die. I love it the most, for my adrenaline gets way up there. It is weird how much I do not want the little guy to die at the end. He is a bearded orange-headed fellow being chased by everything. I push myself under two pillow, try to re- warm in my cold blanket. I am wearing a zippered up zebra suit with a hood, but I am cold. I had forgotten to wear two pairs of my fluffy socks, and it shows. "It's 6:10 a.m., it's 6:10 a.m., it's 6:10 a.m," Second Alexa chants. She is in the living room, I had set her knowing what I usually do To this Alexa. I try to coax myself awake. Coffee? Tea? Bathroom? Bathroom and cookie usually can get me up. Damned. Mornings Are so difficult, especially when you stay awake most of the night. I will do better tomorrow, I think as my third Alexa starts yelling, From the neighbor's apartment, "It is 6:15. It is 6:15, it is 6:15." My neighbors start pounding on walls, making me get up finally. The perils of living in an apartment whose walls are fabric-thin. But also, usually the one thing that does get me up and out. I am so glad I found the crawl space between our two apartments. They are more effective than a mere Alexa, and force me to Slink out quietly, not tempted to ever make their acquaintance.
