Look At Me
look at me, what do you see, look at me when I look at you, I see a pinkish looking person but you prefer to be called white I see you for all that you are, and all that you endeavor to be look at me when you look at me you see a black person but you prefer to say that you see no color at all look at me when you say that you see no color at all, your saying that I do not exist look at me your degrading me and trying to make me feel insignificant not worthy of you even saying that you see me for the black woman that I am look at me for I am someone with so many good qualities to offer my community look at me with a smile on your face, you call yourself my friend "yes my friend" you know exactly who I am for the blood that runs through your veins also runs through mine look at me, what do you see, look at me I am the Great granddaughter of mother Afrika! look at me, what do you see, look at me I am the Great granddaughter of the first peoples of the Americas! look at me, what do you see, look at me I am the Great granddaughter of the European slave owners! look at me, what do you see, look at me I embrace all that I am, for I know who I am
