In a Moment
It was a day of gray windy spins and rolls howling through the mighty naked oaks where cold and rain fell to ice laden shiverings and a wall of white stormed in to pierce the air and blind the eye; piercing rays of sun easily faded to haunting images traversing the brown laid grass and the robins flit and fluttered in the holly branches churning and picking away the fruited berries that fell willingly to the frozen earth; starling scavengers slipped in the breeze colliding with the wild dance of every branch then unexpectedly, as I glanced up from my laptop flew the snow to the left and to the right not knowing which way to go; the birds in flight fell to the ground puffed red bellied robins pushed to their limits edging in the cover of leaves in the bush and brush gathering in clustered groups cemented in the light layered fallen snow; they scattered on the ice and in the piled leaves pecking and pilfering whatever they could find as the snow fell more heavily each resisited the move until the blizzard like winds blinded the view and each was separated one from another; then came the winds return a wild heyday shifting them in tornadic tossings untethered to the earthen squall moanings they struggled to stay but in a moment, one by one, they were gone.
