It hurts to stop seeing a friend, but relationships and wooden buckets don't last forever. No friendship can be completely replaced, but to stay with those who are destructive of self-development destroys the mind and the heart's purpose. The ups and downs of life can rot out an old wooden bucket, or an old friendship, to the extent that it cannot survive.
