And like Night, I am plunged into darkness, as my candle in the dark flickers out. Last night, she silently slipped away caring naught for the anguish I'd feel, for she bears no love for me: outside of my dreams. She treats me like a ghost, an apparition, she doubts is real: reducing my love to a phantom fantasy. My heart lies broken, fractured by the weight of her absence. Yet the tears I cry are wept in vain for she feels no feelings for me: barely acknowledging my existence. And still, I pace the floor counting the hours, minutes and seconds, since she left. And I pray she will return someday, so that I might be with her again, like before.
