I Threw Away the Mask
I thank everyone, visiting this series. I appreciate all your kind comments! # 4 in the Motivational Series. (Regarding overcoming child abuse and trauma) I threw away the mask You said you wouldn’t have left, if I hadn’t told you to My words were that of a fifteen year old, what was I to do? I risked abandonment again and got it in my face As you ran away with glee to your new place You were the adult, able to take yourself away Regardless of what happened to me that day I tell you now, I am the adult and I choose what is best! For me, for my life and all the rest! I know you can’t accept the way that I feel But I will and I have always chosen to be real! I threw away the fake family mask long ago I took my own path, as you very well know I am not a mold for you to manipulate, abuse and bend! This is not a path that you can bring to an end! You cannot cast a fishing pole and catch me on a line You cannot reel me back and expect me to be fine Don’t forget the fire burned, when you stood with that chief! While your child was tortured and evil took life like a thief! Heidi Sands 1/8/19
