I retracted my finger from the pond's surface and the earth made waves that rippled through her heart She sent an invite asked me to say we discussed dreams until she yawned I danced around something or other so I told a joke. One time, at band camp I felt my soul racing And I've liked jazz ever since "Boy you so crazy" Then she sang Strumming my pain with his... I tried to chill but felt overly electric I imagined Pianos in the dark and her legs bent around sunrises till I started quaking, She placed a hand on my thigh, patted it twice and said Sometimes she just wants to talk less and feel more blessed We prayed for forgiveness because we knew we we're doing this I ran my fingers along her cheek and she acted sleep and that was that I left with my innocence intact, but I never should have touched her face so gently Been loving jazz without asking her name
