I had been a user but not in a way that I knew, Thoughts I once criticized, had meant so much to you. I had not known then that your heart broke under my bitter tongue, I regret the moments when I ignored your setting sun. I had not meant to leave you like that, to make you feel alone. I never meant to make you feel like replaceable flesh and bone. I basked in the radiating glow of your presence that I never stopped to look, For the shadows i cast upon you, or the happiness I took. I had not known the authority that my voice had held to you, The pedistsal you placed me on, for what I put you through. I took all of the classes and soon work took up my time, I never did stop to think that I was leaving you behind. I brushed off your feelings like they were easily interchanged. I carressed your naked body now thinking back brings me shame. I had been careless, I hadn't wanted something more. I never meant to make you feel like that. The word you spoke "my whore". I didn't know what to do when you said you'd found someone new, I didn't mean to question "us" and I never meant to hurt you. I thought this was casual, no feelings involved... I should have been there for you and answered your calls. There's a lot of things I should have done if I just took the time to see, That every bitter thing you had become, was now a reflection of me.
