Apples Deer and I Share
apple cobbler yes, I see it oozing with sweet cinnamon sauce rising from the cracks of the earth pan, to greet me, smells heavenly. I can hardly wait to dab on ice cold frozen vanilla ice cream, combination of hot and cold I can get, only from pie and ice cream or a hot fudge sundae I do not feel guilty for stealing apples from my deer; they have also gotten their fill. They have eaten more apples than I claimed, actually. I threw to them each one of the apples that had brown spots. And they had eaten a bunch that got ripe and fell onto the ground before I got to them. The apple tree I planted as a neonate eleven years ago has pleased the deer and I both today. I consume my tasty cobbler in a farm hand way, as if it is my last meal. I am older, so maybe it is; good for the deer.
