The Gift
The Gift by, Martin Braun 12/05/2018 She came to see me so early in the morning, casting the drapes open and showering my room with bright light. Why must she do this? ! This morning she came. Doesn’t she know heating this room costs money? Close the drapes! Today she is here, opening the drapes. Why is she opening the drapes!? Stop wasting money. Close the drapes. 9 am, she just walks into my room, casting open the drapes. Who are you!? Don’t you have a husband where you live to take care of? A lady is here. and she is bringing me gifts! What for! What day is it? Christmas!? Is it Christmas? 8:59 am, a lady is here. I don’t know that lady and man in the picture., dressed in the wedding gown and tuxedo. Oh! I was sleeping. You woke me. What do you want? “She seems familiar,” he mutters. She leaves, closing the door behind her.
