Tick Tock
Tick tock…. Tick tock…. Time is winding down on this internal and emotional clock. Memories that feel as if they happened yesterday, Are nothing now but moments that do nothing but fade away. The ever so lovable person you once knew, Slowly passes you by, without one single clue. The good times that were all once shared, Seem to exist as if you were never even there. Years fly by, and best friends die…. You’ll never know when you’ll say your final goodbye. Do you wish now that you could turn back time? And cherish when I was yours and you were mine? Or go back in time even more, Feeling like you’re that little kid in a candy store? Do you miss the way it used to feel, When I would show you my love and show that it was real? Living with a purpose to be greater than many, Whether it was twenty years or one hundred-twenty. Living with the future in mind, Because we knew by acting in the moment, life wasn’t very kind. I wish I could go back to the joys of yesterday, But instead, I’m faced with the memories all fading away. So it’s back to reality… it’s back to today. It’s back to a heart with no feelings, a voice with no words to say. No words to say…. No words to say…. Tick tock…. Tick tock…. Time has run out on this inner emotional clock.
