And Death Too Shall Pass
Though I will sleep now, soon I shall rise again. Will I dream cryonic dreams fevered by all I have fought and craved, as on so many nights past? Or will I rouse as from an anesthetic, unaware that time has passed? Will I wake to a world that has refurbished my forlorn husk, but left my mind far behind until nothing can be known or loved? Perhaps my soul will linger to witness what my body can no longer feel, until the two are reunited by routine miracles? Will life renewed be but days bereaved of all those who have made me thankful to be alive? Will humanity wallow still in recycled history, or will it have escaped the gravity of its appetites? I shall find out in a wink or two. On the other side of sleep, I hope to see you again. Even the sun is mortal, time may expire, but life should insist on itself. And death too shall pass.
