The Edge of Night
THE EDGE OF NIGHT Evil enveloped the edge of night, eerily so. Twilight twittered with draconian fangs, hidden though. A voluptuous vineyard of maidens, making merry. A silent bat hovers over throaty wine, viscous berry. Twirling skirts tantalize charmer’s moony eyes. Blonde or brunette bombshell to regret her goodbyes. Sinking his teeth into dusk, cape covers his face. Ne’er warned by a mother, orphan enters his place. She comments of the tender light, romantically low. Nearby a fireplace cackles with a demonic glow. Rapunzel-like hair hangs, luxurious teasing the mirror. Frighteningly he holds her waist. Her blues peer into the nothingness that clings like death and sinks its antique teeth, sharpened incisors that greedily drink. Her scream like a storm tearing at trees, torrential tears. The edge of night safe for most but tomorrow yields fears. 10/20/2018 Soap Opera Titles Poetry Contest Sponsor: Janis Thompson
