No Phone an no Facebook, I got nuthin t' haul, I'm carryin only, My heart full of love, an' that weighs nuthin at all. No i Pad or i Pod, No tablets for me, Jus' got me memories, I'm travelin' light as can be. Don't 'ave a gameboy or PS3 Aint an XBox registered to me. Some chalk and a pebble out in the street Chalked up numbers and hopped on your feet. Drew a circle on the ground, All the kids crowding round, just to see, Who was best at playin' allies, Sometimes it was me. Flat fag packets, we knew all the brands, If you flicked and covered one or two, They were soon in your hands. For hours we played at the corner, The winners would shout with glee, The game only over when called in for tea. The girls did the rope skipping, They could juggle too, Two and three balls against the wall, Then up went a leg and down went a ball, Caught by deft hands as it came off the wall. Three bits of kindling and one for the top, The game of cannon as I recall, They were placed against the wall, Knocked down with a ball, © Dave Timperley October 2018
