If Response, I Will
I have read Rudyard Kipling, your wise words, in your If poem- and if's are with me each day; I believe in me, dismissing the words of nerds. whispering soft to myself, let them have their say. I will do what I do and ignore the haters, let them throw their sharp daggers at my back; I will just reject all those nasty dictators, if they belittle- I still refuse to attack. I will dream but never will dreams rule me, my innermost thoughts will guide and not lead; I will face defeat with strength- that is the key, and each success will be a beautiful thread. I will own all my words quickly spoken, and just never mind those who distort them; I will hold my head high although I am broken, crawling in the mud looking for even one gem. I will not be afraid to take a chance, and risk all that I have worked for in life; I will begin new each set back and still dance, and never speak of the pain of the knife. I will present myself as always strong, though I am bleeding, bleeding, bleeding inside; I will admit to the world when I am wrong, but I will ever glide with tears dried. I will traverse this life with all my goodness, not ever be to busy to stop for a caress; I will not let anyone drive me to madness, but stand up strong like a mighty tree- yes. I will learn how to forget and forgive, my every day will be about living; I will embrace this Earth and not the past- relive, a humble girl- until the day of my leaving. _______________________________ October 17, 2018 Poetry/Rhyme/In Response, I Will Copyright Protected, ID 18-1072-189-01 All Rights Reserved.
