Poems written by poets who understand poetry, and know beautiful words, and how to use them. Poems about wanting and loving and sensual stuff. Mushy love poems, read breathlessly by the masses. Daring stuff, with heroes and heroines who make us swoon and moan and long for romanticism. How do these bards know these eighteenth century words? Is there a gigantic seductive poetry book? Who has access? Does all their marvelous imagery come from the recesses of their mind? Do mystical magical romantic brain connections keep all of these glorious words inside their dendrites? Are there lists? How are they organized? Are they only available to certain poets? Real ones? Some of the most beautiful poetry touches my heart, but does not make sense to my novice-poet’s mind. Sometimes my heart leaps with joy as it reads a poem, and yet, what can I add? I do not own any of these love- words, and I do not know where the secret poetry book is located.
