A Tempestuous Spell
A TEMPESTUOUS SPELL Walking rapidly, yet pensively along the waters edge, A shallow wave tickled my toes, and seductively Crossed my path, caressing my feet, almost enticingly Inviting, yet alerting me this was Africa’s sea, I should hedge My bets, for ignoring it I would pay a high fee, yet, I took A few more steps deeper into this captivating, frothing sea, As if a tempestuous spell had been cast upon me! I suddenly stumbled and simultaneously a sound shook The ground beneath me and triumphantly rumbled, Africa’s beautiful wild blue sea no longer seemed mine, Ignoring its warnings, I had Probably crossed the line, I longed for the bathers so far away – I felt humbled! The tide was sweeping me away, I shouted as loud as I could for help, would anyone hear, I mustn’t panic for I might drown, but was filled with fear, I earnestly and fervently began to pray. Amazingly a helicopter hovering above spotted me, Perhaps I thought someone out there really does care, They let down a ladder, do I dare, Yes, Africa's sea Had not swallowed me, someone out there cares And has increased my time left, For HE knew I did not want to selfishly forget I was a Mother, And a wife, and I would go sad, Knowing I was leaving my family bereft!
