The Old Knight and Firebreath Part One
A king with might and piety He rules his land quietly Silence always seeks sound Peace ends when it's found A wizard casts a spell Damning the king to hell Creating chaos and death Naming his creation Firebreath A dragon, a dragon, a dragon flies out Fire, fire, fire it spouts Farms, Taverns, Castles in flames Now he's the one who reigns The wizard loses control The dragon burns him like coal A creature without its summoner Burning every commoner A knight takes his sword He swears to his lord The last thing the dragon will hear Is this man's happy cheer So the knight goes to its nest Bearing his lord's crest The knight keeps his word And slays the giant fire bird He makes sure the dragon's dead Then he takes the giant head Brings it down to the town And all he gets is a big frown The dragon he had killed Was still very unskilled For that was just its child And wasn't even ready for the wild The knight is thrown into a cell He slowly becomes very unwell His mind isn't what it used to be Still he escapes after finding the key But the sunlight is so bright he loses his sight He can't tell his left from right Nevertheless he goes to the town All he does is ask around Where is the monster that plagued this land He shall still die by my hand Nobody had ever seen the knight or the dragon The creature killed the people and left the land barren Everyone the knight had ever known Was now beneath sand and stone No wonder he could escape so easily Nobody stopped him from using the key So where do you people come from then We have traveled here from afar old man Why come to a place that has nothing to offer Our lord sent us here good and kind sir All of a sudden a man comes running Talking about a creature he found stunning He had escaped the monster's breath And avoided certain death Where is the dragon may I ask For killing him is my task I saw him flying up the peak His baby is what it seeks So the knight asked the villager to join him For his situation was pretty grim His blindness is what stopped the knight On his own he could never win the fight After long debate the villager said yes Promising to help the knight in this mess They followed the destruction the dragon left behind But when the man saw the monster he resigned Leaving the old knight on his own Blind and only flesh and bone Fearing that this is the end Still he did make a stand
