Honest Desire
Right about now I desire a true friend, someone who can hold me until the brutal end. To pick up the broken scattered pieces of my throbbing heart, to prevent every cell in my body from falling apart. To help me stand tall and strong once again, to walk me home in the sorrowful downpour of the rain. To make me fight for what I rightfully deserve, to fight for me using every last nerve. To comfort me when I am feeling glum, to be the loving hand to guide me when my legs feel numb. To be the shoulder I sob every last drop of rage on, to be loyally at my side from dusk till dawn. I plea the cruel blade of betrayal shall never be impaled through my naive back, two faced friends are no longer welcome; do not ask for any slack. Have the decency to look into my horrified eyes as the tears shed down my face hearing your distasteful lies. I have been broken and put back together numerous times, all hope blows away in the wind rattling my bones along with the chimes. Eventually, my tender wounds will be beyond repair, if my heart shatters again, I will be released into endless despair. I need you to forever love and support me just the perfect amount, shall I never need to recall a demoralizing miscount. I long for a beautiful, everlasting friendship that will never vanish into thin air due to uncalled hardship. August 11, 2018 Fool me once Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Brenda Chiri 2nd Place
