Yet be grateful for the little things, Let life be a friend to you. Grow in love,be loveable Let others draw near Without being a doormat, Love cannot stem from fear. Honour truth with all its’ beauty, Never brutal or unkind. So be sure to handle it carefully When sharing with others what’s on your mind. Treat everyone as you want to be treated, With respect and with care, Remembering we all have feelings Though some may pretend They’re not there...... Yet don’t take life too seriously While you learn and strive. Laugh,have fun,be happy Know it’s good to be alive. Take pride in your appearance. Look after your health And body too, Aware of inner beauty- Remember to always be you. Especially follow your inner voice For your path through life to see, Then you will shine as a child of God, And be the beautiful person You’re destined to be. I wrote this for my god-daughter when she was 13 at the request of her mum to give her a bit of guidance.
